My name is Perry deLapouyade, SAP/LAC 272 and I would like to introduce myself and put myself forward to get on your DOT Qualified SAP list that is provided to your employees who have tested positive on any DOT drug or alcohol test and are in a safety sensitive function.
As you probably already know according to the DOT Rule 49 CFR Part 40 Section 40.287, it is the employer's responsibility to provide an SAP referral on any individual who tests positive on a DOT Drug Screen whether you plan on hiring, retaining, or dismissing the employee.
Over the years, I have successfully helped hundreds of DOT employees return to safety sensitive functions successfully. While much of this success is dependent on the employee, I believe my 38 years in recovery, experience as a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) in addition to my Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) qualifications has provided me with a process that is challenging to the employee who desires to get back in good standing with DOT.
Our process includes:
I keep in close communication with the Designated Employer Representative (DER) and make certain that the DER has all essential documentation in a timely manner.
Whether you have a current employee who has tested positive on a DOT drug or alcohol test or an applicant who needs an SAP to work through the process, I would greatly appreciate your consideration to provide my information to that associate and should I get selected I will work relentlessly to assist that employee through the process.
Please let me know if we can connect at a time that is convenient for you so we can discuss.
